Since its first introduction in late 2006, the Superstomp 140 received a multitude of upgrades, which have allowed it to stay miles ahead at the top of the pile. The competition keeps on trying to copy this awesome piece of kit, but their substandard attempts leave them flailing without a sale in sight. Don't buy a poor copy, get the real deal - the Superstomp 140.

For 2009 Stomp have updated the SS140 with robust steel bushes in the rear shock and revised the design of the shock to make it more durable. Despite this being in the fun-bike range, most customers tend to ride them at tracks (jumping the hell out of them), so Stomp have responded with the shock revisions. They have also decided to give the SR140C a little kick up the bum and have factory fitted the legendary Z-40 cam kit (hence the 'Z' in the SS140-Z). This gives the SS140 an extra 2hp over any other brand trying to sell you the YX140 engine. No other brand in the UK can offer you this as a factory fit. Due to the very high compression, Stomp have also added a brand new motocross style kickstart, which has been fitted as standard since June 2009. The revised 'Man with a Can' graphics now sport all of the 2009 sponsors' logos and the red subframe finishes the bike off a treat.

What age range is this pit bike suitable for?

How much assembly is required?

Minor assembly is required, such as adjusting the handle bars, fitting the front wheel, rear shock, foot pegs, mudguard and foot brake lever. This should take no more than 45 minutes. No specialist tools are required, and a basic tool kit is supplied with the bike. Machines will need a thorough checking over to ensure that all nuts and bolts are tight and that the machine is ready for use. Will it fit in my car?

Possibly. The Superstomps are by no means small or light, although you may be able to squeeze it into a larger car by putting the back seats down. Ideally a van or trailer should be used. Back to questions

How fast can it go?

The 140cc will reach a top speed of around 70mph, weight dependant. Pit bikes are designed to accelerate quickly, rather than to reach a high top speed, so you will find that this is reflected in the performance of the machine.Back to questions

How will my machine be delivered?

The machine will arrive boxed, requiring minor assembly. It will be delivered by courier on the date of delivery between 9.30am and 5.30pm. Back to questions

Where can the machine be used?

Pit bikes are not legal on public roads. They can be used on any private land with the permission of the owners. Pit bikes can be road legalized, but will need to have a number of modifications in order to make sure they conform to the legal requirements of road legal vehicles. Pit bikes are specifically designed to be driven off road on grass, mud and dirt. Using the bike on tarmac will produce premature wear of the tyres. The bike should be cleaned every time it is taken off road since prolonged exposure to dirt and grime may damaged certain components, as is the case with any off road product. Back to questions

Can it take passengers?

No more than one person should ride the Superstomp at any one time. Passengers affect the machine's ability to handle correctly and may cause loss of control. The extra weight may also cause damage to the machine. Back to questions

Is any protective clothing required?
